Spring Seed Swap!
Sunday March 2 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

Attendees are encouraged to bring seeds from their own garden or unused seeds they have purchased, to share with others and/or donate to the community seed bank. Our seeds are free but donations to support the seed bank will be gladly accepted at the event.

The Piscataqua Seed Project is a community-based organization whose mission is to empower people to grow food locally and save heirloom seeds for future generations. We encourage the sharing of skills and knowledge and believe that a healthy food system is critical for creating resilient communities and connecting us to our cultural heritage.
Our goal is to increase the availability of open-pollinated seed for families, schools and other groups who wish to grow plants in their own gardens. Our focus is on locally adapted and regionally significant foods that grow well in our climate. We distribute seed at local events and libraries throughout the Seacoast and offer workshops on growing and saving seed.
The Piscataqua Seed Project formed in 2017 with the desire to create a seed saving organization serving the Seacoast NH / ME region. Our interests include heirloom and open-pollinated seed saving, seed libraries, seed sharing and seed production for community use. All are welcome to join!

Each spring we distribute free seeds to our community. We teach and encourage all who grow a garden how to save and return seed to our seed bank, completing the cycle. We depend on your saved seeds to fill the envelopes for next year's seed give-away but we also supplement returns with purchased seed from regional seed companies.
Your generous donation helps to purchase this additional seed as well as the packaging needed to distribute seeds each spring.
