Herbal  Self Care

February 23, 1 - 5 pm
Allium Gardens, Barrington NH

Self care shouldn't feel like a have to, as if it's a requirement . We already have too many "shoulds" in our lives. Instead lets focus on care that is so renewing and revitalizing that it becomes a can't-do-without-it part of your day!

Luckily, when we use herbs for nourishing, toning and relaxing the rewards are great. We look forward to treating ourselves with that which is satisfying and delightful. This is such an important way to choose ourselves first.

Creating luscious loving herbal goodness for yourself is easy to do! Read more to find out how in the upcoming Herbal Self Care Workshop!

Self care should be luscious and delicious--something you look forward to every day.

Herbs for Menopause

Sunday March 16, 1 - 5pm
Allium Gardens, Barrington NH

As we age, our bodies move out of the reproductive years and into our elder wise woman stage. For most women, the menopausal stage of life is 1/3 of her life.

So why is there so little care offered to women outside of hormone replacement therapy?? Women have been living long and vital lives for thousands of years with what nature provides. It's time to rediscover the herbs that can support you in your elder years with grace and love.

In this workshop we'll learn to incorporate some of the herbs and foods that can help you stay balanced and supported through the natural changes of life. Open to all women who are entering, experiencing or completing menopause.

Much of our life is spent in the menopausal years. Let's make them some of the best!

Why Herbal?

Today's beauty and personal care industry is big business. Whenever that happens, profit starts to take precedence over purity. Whatever we put on our skin or into our body has a profound influence on our health--for better or worse!

So why take the risk? People have used plants for nourishment and self care for centuries and only within the last 100 years has this knowledge been out of the hands of the people. It's time to get back to the roots (and leaves and seeds...) of natural health! Join me for a workshop and reclaim your body's health.

If you'd like to save money, increase your self-reliance and get away from dependence on Over-the-Counter chemical-laden medications, the Winter Wellness Workshop is for you!  This year instead of waiting until acute illness strikes, prepare your herbal pantry now.
During the workshop you'll not only learn ABOUT the herbs and foods to strengthen your immune system, but HOW to create the remedies you need to care for yourself or your loved ones if you get sick. Take a stand for your health by creating an herbal kitchen!

The Biology of Belief

Within our selves we have deeply held beliefs about our world and our place within it. These beliefs combine with past experiences to influence our perceptions: the lens through which we interpret the world around us. Our interpretations in turn lead to thoughts about what should or shouldn't be true or right, triggering a biochemical response in the body. That's called an emotion. This cascade of biochemicals has a profound effect on our health and well-being, all arising from our beliefs, perceptions and thoughts. Over time, an excess of one creates an imbalance within the body that can eventually manifest as dis-ease.

"Our bodies ...respond to these perceptions by releasing chemicals that affect our physical health and well-being… for better or for worse."  ~ Bruce Lipton

Because these aspects of our selves are manifesting in an energetic way, we must use an energetic healing modality to access these parts of ourselves. This is where flower essences truly shine. When we look to plants as allies in our healing journey, they help us release, retain or transform qualities we need in our next stage of life.

About Alison

I love plants and all the ways they help us: giving us air to breathe, their beauty and of course, their medicine. My health is elevated thanks to the plants! I'd love to help you discover the amazing world of green medicine so that you can use plants to support your health as well.

Through the years I've learned from the plants themselves and from many amazing herbalists, including formal training in herbalism. Many hours in the fields, the garden and the kitchen has given me the skills and knowledge for creating a seasonally focused herbal lifestyle that includes a robust herbal apothecary. You too can create a  healing herbal pantry to support your and your family's health. Once you start on the plant path, you won't want to live any other way!
